San Francisco Pacifica Hotels Recap

San Francisco has been on my travel bucket list for years.

When the opportunity presented itself, my blogger bestie Karli and I packed our bags, and jetted off to the West Coast.

I'll be sharing a travel guide soon enough on our weekend trip, but I wanted to start off by sharing where we stayed and what to expect at Half Moon Bay Lodge

For the trip, Karli and I rented a car from the San Francisco Airport and drove to Half Moon Bay Lodge. It's located on

2400 Cabrillo Highway South
Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

which is about 30 minutes from the airport, but the drive was worth it. Driving alongside the Cabrillo Highway coast is a must, and I love that we were able to do so every day. We passed by beautiful mountains and scenic views that took our breath away, which was a teaser for what to expect that weekend.

I've heard lots of people say that it's more of a hassle to drive a car in the city, but luckily, I did a lot of research beforehand to figure out where to park and to avoid car theft situations. The hotel itself has free guest parking, so that was a plus.

Sidenote: San Francisco is well-known for car thefts!
I mean... the newspaper says it all.

LOBBY:
The first thing I noticed about the lobby / front desk area was the natural light. It really complemented the furniture and the greenery inside the lobby area. There's also a Keurig coffee maker and cucumber / lemon water near the entrance, which I definitely took advantage of.

 HOTEL ENTRANCE:
It's safe to say we both fell in love with the hotel entrance. Maybe it was the lighting, or the moss / greenery decorating the entrance door, or just all of the above, but it was the warmest welcome after a long flight.
Needless to say, the hotel colors and decor screamed California vibes. We loved it.

HOTEL ROOM:
One thing that was tough on our part was that there were no elevators. Luckily, a staff member helped us carry our luggage up the stairs to our hotel room on the second floor. The room was very spacious. Our room had two Queen-sized beds with a balcony view overlooking the golf course. The bathroom had colorful mosaic tiles with a big counter and mirror. Near the entrance, there was a Keurig coffee maker, a walk-in closet with two bathrobes, and a mini-fridge.

Since we were constantly traveling into the city, we didn't spend as much time in the room. However, it was comforting coming back to a huge bed every night. Best feeling ever.

COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST:
I definitely enjoyed the complimentary breakfast that was served from 7 AM to 10 AM. The breakfast area AKA Fireside Room is actually separate from the lobby area. It was less than a minute walk over from our hotel room.
There were so many options to choose from -- granola with yogurt, cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, fruit, cheese, turkey, ham, oatmeal with lots of topping options, apple juice, orange juice, skim milk, regular milk...

and then my favorite: tea and coffee. With to-go cups. A definite plus.

POOL, FITNESS CENTER & FIRESIDE AREA:
This area is located right outside the breakfast buffet room. The fireplace was a nice touch, and a great place to hangout after hours with a glass of wine. There's also a heated Jacuzzi patio area and a fitness center right by the pool.

GOLF COURSE VIEW:
Right outside the pool area is this spot where you can lounge area, eat, or drink with a view overlooking the golf course. It's convenient if you're walking your pet in the mornings, and also just a beautiful way to start your day with some sunshine and some peace + quiet.

If you're ever in the San Francisco area, I definitely recommend staying at Half Moon Bay Lodge for a weekend getaway.

Thanks for stopping by!
