A Day in Versailles

When in France... 

a trip to Versailles was definitely in order. Since Versailles was about an hour to an hour and a half away from Paris, my friend and I from EF ILC left right after our morning class to hop on the metro and head to Versailles. 

However, after some complications on where to get on and where to get off, we ended up taking an Uber from the last metro stop and arrived an hour before the Palace closed. 

The Palace itself opens at 9 AM and closes at 5:30 PM, and the Gardens opens at 8 AM and closes at 6 PM. I ended up purchasing the Palace Ticket for 18 € -- which included entrance to the Palace, the temporary exhibitions in the Palace, the Gardens, the Park, and the Coach Gallery. Since I was on a time crunch, I wasn't able to see the entire Estate, which includes the estate of Trianon (20 €). 
If you're planning a trip to Versailles, I would plan at least spending two to three hours in the château, at least an hour in the Gardens and Park, and another two to three hours at the Estate of Trianon. The round-trip transmit time may total to almost another two to three hours, if you're coming from Paris.  Long story short: plan to spend at least more than half a day when visiting Versailles.
