February 14 is and always has been Galentine’s Day in my book.

Every year, since high school, I’ve always celebrated it with girlfriends and it’s been something I’ve looked forward to. As a girl who was single all throughout college, I’ve learned just how important it is to have a good girlfriend or a group of girlfriends you can trust and rely on. Girlfriends who will support you and not make you feel like you are competition. I’m at the point in my life where I’ve come to realize who has good energy and who doesn’t — who is fake and who I need to just eliminate from my life. And I’ve done just that. I feel happy with the ones who are currently in my life.

I know that many people dread the holiday for many reasons — seeing others flaunt their love on social media, being a main reason. But whatever the reason, I hope you are able to focus on yourself, enjoy the holiday and treat yourself or a special gal pal to some jewelry for the occasion.
