Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel Recap
Scroll below for the photos of my suite, living room, dining experience at the hotel, and more.
PREMIER SPA SUITE HOTEL ROOM:
There's even a fully-stocked mini bar, an iron and full-sized board, in-room safe, and two giant 65-inch flatscreen TVs in the living room and bedroom.
The living room features a beautiful bookcase with couches, fruit-infused water, chess set, and playing card art on the wall. It's a great socializing area and hangout spot any time of the day. This is also where you can find complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings, and wine hour from 5-6 PM.
ROOFTOP:
I wasn't able to enjoy it because of the rainy / gloomy weather we were experiencing that weekend, but the view really is stunning. I would recommend coming up here this summer!
RADIATOR DC:
On our last night, we had the pleasure of dining at Radiator DC, which is a cocktail bar / cuisine.
Did you know that Radiator is named for 14 Street's rich automotive past? You can see the history within the design of the restaurant. The space features industrial accents, rich woods, communal tables, and supple leather. There's even an outdoor patio with an open-air fire pit where you can dine at, when the weather gets warmer.
We both loved the beet salad and the spicy tuna.
The bottom of the beet salad is actually sunflower seed puree, which was actually an interesting and delicious combination mixed with the spring radish and beets.
Definitely order the spicy tuna. SO delicious.
For our main dishes, we ordered the charred eggplant that had marinated chickpeas, cucumber rita, and pita bread on top. It was an interesting concept to place the pita bread on top, but the eggplant was delicious. Definitely worth ordering again.
The other order was cauliflower chilaquiles, which had pepitas, tortilla, and cashew crema. Apparently, this dish was delicious, but very salty.
We decided to walk around the National Mall, and check out the Monuments along the way.
I hope you enjoyed today's Mason & Rook Hotel recap and my Radiator DC dining experience!
