A Morning Change I've Been Making

I have a confession to make.

I used to be an avid morning coffee drinker, but for the past few weeks, I've been starting my mornings much differently. And honestly, I've seen some changes.

I asked a lot of you on blog content ideas on my Instagram Story polls, and you all asked for a morning routine. I'm working on having that one up sometime next week, but wanted to segway with this post sharing two things I've been starting my mornings with.

1) Instead of scrolling through Instagram or Snapchat or emails when I wake up, I've made it a habit to open the First 5 app on my phone. This app is called First 5 because every day there is a new devotional that allows you to use your 'First 5' minutes of your day with God. I love the readings that I come across every morning and it really does set the tone for my day.

Sidenote: This is not sponsored by any means. I genuinely love the app and use it every day.

2) Before eating anything, I drink hot lemon water with a drop of honey. I've been using this raw honey because I love that the ginger and turmeric boosts my immune system, improves digestion and helps detox my body. I know it's on the pricey side, but you can even spread it on bread or crackers!

Lemon water is so beneficial to drink on an empty stomach right when you wake up because...
- it's a natural energizer
- hydrates the body
- the Vitamin C helps cleanses your skin
- helps you digest by eliminating toxins from the body
- rich in pectin fiber which helps fight cravings

Remember when I first mentioned it in this post here?

Don't get me wrong, I still drink coffee.
But these two changes have really helped change my body. I feel mentally and physically prepared to start my mornings on a good note, and I hope you all try it as well!

Thanks for stopping by :)
