Sugar and Spice

With two weeks down and ONE more day to go until Christmas Break, my interest in holiday recipes have dramatically increased. With tomorrow's 2-hour delay and Friday's 2-hour release, my week practically couldn't get any better. I'm crossing my fingers tonight hoping to see some snow! (but living in Fayetteville, I get weather that surely disappoints) but a girl can hope!
Today I spent my wonderful afternoon baking sugar cookies and caramel-topped brownies. Yummm right? Of course I took pictures...those will go up shortly whenever I get the time to upload the pictures! So excited to pass them out to everyone! I love Christmas, it's definitely the greatest time of year :)
After all, what's Christmas without something delicious to munch on?
This is one of my top 5 desserts that I'm preparing for the holidays. Highly recommended!

Chocolate-Dipped Peppermint Sticks

These peppermint sticks look beautiful and taste even better! Leave them out in a dish when trimming the tree or relaxing by the fire with a mug of hot cocoa.

Ingredients:
12 five-inch peppermint sticks
7 ounces white chocolate
1/4 cup nonpareils

Directions
  1. Dip peppermint sticks, one at a time, into melted chocolate. Transfer to a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. Allow chocolate to set slightly, about 5 minutes. Roll chocolate end of peppermint sticks in nonpareils. Return to lined pan and let stand at room temperature until chocolate hardens.
And...voilà! There you have it :)
