God Closes Doors...

One of the many reasons why I started a blog back in 2010 was because I loved to write.

When things didn't go the way I planned or when life got hard, I wasn't one to express them to others. So instead, I resorted to writing it all out. It made me feel better to just type away my feelings.

Which is what I did this week.

A few days ago, I felt like my world came crashing down around me.
I was focused on my happiness, and I let it get the best of me.

I truly believe that God has a purpose for everything.
He closed a door... because the timing wasn't right. But instead, I know that He's planning to open a new one. A better, bigger, and more importantly... the right one
I needed a couple of days to reflect and remind myself that a bad day doesn't mean it's a bad life.

Yesterday, I posted my thoughts in my Instagram caption:

This city reminds me every day to never give up hope.
To stand your ground, to fight for what you believe in... to never lose sight of your passion just because life gets hard. To learn from your mistakes, to keep going even though you want to quit.
And when you fall... to have the courage to rise again.

Because God doesn't put you through hardships... if he doesn't think you can handle it.
He closes certain doors only to show us that He has something better.

You know what I also realized?
I was focused on all the bad things in my life and I overlooked the good ones.
My life isn't over. I'm blessed to be alive. Healthy. Have such a strong faith in God. To be surrounded by supportive family and friends who would do anything for me. To be living in the city of my dreams. To put my passion into this space on the Internet that you all have supported me with over the years.

So in the midst of all of this...
I feel grateful. And in the meantime... I'll take a seat in the journey that God has planned for me, and know that He will be with me every step of the way.

Have a great weekend.
