Blanket Scarf: Two Ways

Watching the sun rise over the skyscrapers on the Upper East Side was probably the highlight of this past weekend.

If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, you probably saw the beautiful sunrise snaps I posted.
It was magical. And there's nothing more magical than roaming the empty streets early in the morning before everyone wakes up. The peace and quiet is rare in a city like New York, so I always try to soak in every moment that I can get.

Today's post is a requested one on tips for styling blanket scarves, so I wanted to show you two ways that I like to style them.

Let's be real. Blanket scarves are literally blankets... that we wrap around ourselves and call "scarves" because wearing a blanket in public isn't socially acceptable. Right?
Not only that, but they can make you look like a marshmallow, in more ways than one.

So here are two ways that I like to style my blanket scarves:

Tip #1: fold it in half, and drape it over your shoulders.
I like to style mine over simple tops and skirts, to give the look an extra oomph.
Brownie points if the colors match...

How fun is this jewel-studded bag?!
It just went live on the website today.

Tip #2: bundle up by wrapping it around like any other scarf and pair it with a sweater + skirt combo.
Most people probably style their blanket scarves with jeans, but I like to pair it with a top + skirt + booties. If it's too cold, switch to over-the-knee boots. It's a great way to switch up your basic fall sweater look.

My key tip here is coordinating colors.
This is so important and something I always make note of when I'm styling my outfits.
