4 Secrets For Layering Jewelry

For those who follow me on social media and my blog, you've probably seen my best friend McKenzie Sanders one way or another. I'm so excited to share her second debut (her first one was here) on my blog. Since I'm up in New York City, I asked McKenzie to style a few looks with my Cameron Village collaboration.

Layering jewelry can either feel like you're wearing too much or mixing with the wrong necklaces, which is why I wanted to talk about some key tips for layering jewelry. Scroll down for each tip!

Tip #1: I almost always opt for a shorter necklace paired with a longer one. If I'm going for a statement necklace, I try to keep the earrings simple, so there's not too much going on. If the set matches, win-win.

Tip #2: If you're going to pair a statement (chunkier) necklace, opt for a delicate or dainty chain.

Tip #3: Some abide by the gold or silver only rule, but I don't. Mixing metals make things fun and I like that personal style is however you choose to make it. This Rebecca Minkoff clutch is actually silver, and it really makes the ring pop against the gold pieces.

Tip #4: I personally prefer statement necklaces on tops or dresses that have a simple neckline, or even something with a V-neck, so the necklaces are the key component.
