Summer in the City
Two things I've learned so far while living in NYC this summer:
1. The bigger the bag, the better.
2. Carry a light jacket.
It's funny because as a college student back home in Chapel Hill, I hardly used any of my tote bags. On campus I carried my bookbag and everywhere else, I always carried a crossbody bag because it was convenient and small. But lately, I've been switching from a satchel to a tote to carry all my essentials (laptop, chargers, sunglasses, and water bottle, etc.) with me for the whole work day. It's been tough lugging around my tote all day because I'm constantly walking everywhere, but I'm really glad I brought a few options with me. See? I guess overpacking has its perks. Hah.
The mornings are usually pretty hot, but after work, the weather starts to cool down a little and often times, I get a tad chilly walking home from the office to the subway. Luckily, I brought lots of light jackets with me as well, and those really do come in handy. There was an instance last week, where the weather was acting pretty strange and it started to pour and I didn't have an umbrella. The worst.
I'm sure there'll be more things to add to this list of things as the days and weeks progress.
Thanks for stopping by!
The weekend I arrived in NY, my family and I spent a couple of days in Long Island where I shot this look. The weather was absolutely beautiful that day.
