I started summer with the mindset that I would have all this freedom to do as I pleased and enjoy every bit of my stay here in Chapel Hill. For those who are curious as to what I'm doing here, by the way, I am currently taking summer classes in Chapel Hill while also interning as a social media and marketing intern with Moon & Lola in Apex.
This was my first full week, and I had high hopes that I would be able to do everything. And I mean, make time for friends, have some pool time, explore new coffee shops in Carrboro, all of those things while still managing to blog, intern, and of course, focus on my academics. Lately, I've been noticing that I've grown more and more tired day by day as I manage my busy schedule. By the time 10 PM rolls around, all I want to do is crawl into my bed and call it a night.
But after spending a few days to myself, I realized it's all about finding that balance. That balance is important to manage both work and play.
Here are 5 THINGS that I do daily to allow myself to have enough energy to get through the day.
And maybe these are some fun ideas for those in need of a pick-me-up or just want to try some new things this weekend!
1. Drink 1-2 cups of green tea every night before bed. I like to have my 2nd cup around 8-9 PM.
2. Have a fruit blended smoothie (topped with chia seeds!) for lunch.
3. <pretty blooms>
Turn off your phone or put it away from your bed when it hits 10 PM.
4. Squeeze in at least 20 minutes of exercise or go 15 mins hardcore. Every minute counts!
I always plan out my workouts the night before to ensure that I actually go to the gym.
5. Open the blinds and make your bed. This one might sound weird, but there's something so appealing about a neatly-made bed and some natural sunlight pouring into my bedroom. Ha. Weird, but it really works!
Also, a little update...
I'm heading home for Memorial Day weekend with the family. That's an old photo, hence the OTK boots, but one of my favorite roadtrip shots.
