Parisian Patisserie

I'm not so sure what's going on with the weather this week in Fayetteville. It was hot one week and then out of nowhere, it's been feeling a tad chillier than normal. With weather like this, it's hard to choose outfits in the mornings. All this weather talk made me think of France and how much it is my dream to visit there one day. I compiled up a few short notes for myself when I plan on traveling to the City of Lights. Though it won't be any time soon since I'm still yet only in high school, a girl can dream.

Things to remember:
Wear a Scarf—Winter tip number one is an easy and important one. (Yes, it is still winter...March 22nd couldn't come any sooner). Through all the photos I've seen of Paris, I have concluded that French women and men love wearing scarves, and they seem to have an effortless, inimitable and elegant way of tying them to perfect their look. Not only will scarves keep me warm in the winter months, the simple accessory will also make me look oh-so-French.
Buy a Pair of Boots—As soon as the leaves start to change and the air starts to turn chilly, all the shoe stores in France start lining their window displays with boots. Knee-high boots, ankle boots, heeled boots, flat boots, black boots, brown boots...galore. They are must have footwear option in the winter months. I've realized that the French love expressing them in various ways—with tights and dresses or skirts, over pants, under pants, you name it.
Invest in a Peacoat—In the winter, I know how much the weather gets chilly in most places and the last thing I want to do is to be seen wearing a parka. If I'm going to bring a coat with me to France, it will most likely be a peacoat. Not only will it keep me warm, but it will go with everything from jeans to a dress. Depending on the color, that is. Neutral colors are best.
Note to self: When packing or shopping, it is best to pack a lot of easy-to-wear stuff that can be paired with anything—jeans, sweaters and the above staples (boots, scarves and a good coat) for comfort. Besides, if I so happen to make a fashion misstep, it would be the perfect excuse to have to shop.
Problem solved.
I found these beautiful pictures on Tumblr and couldn't help but post them on the blog. (Though I do wish they were my own doing.) They reminded me of the fourth season premiere of Gossip Girl. Seeing B and S frolicking in the cobble-stoned streets of Paris. Sigh. It's a bummer. Honestly, I do not know what I'm going to do without Gossip Girl on Monday nights for another two months.
